Dear Residents, As you may already be aware this week is Living Streets Cymru Walk to School Week encouraging more families and children to be active by walking, scooting, cycling and wheeling to school.
Also those who may require to drive to school drop off and pick ups are encouraged as part of this scheme to park further away and walk a distance to encourage physical activity and promote healthy habits.
We at Gwent Police would just like to share the message that All Motorists are responsible for ensuring the safety of road users, including pedestrians whilst driving. Please do your best to improve the safety of children and pedestrians by avoiding parking on zig zags, pavements and blocking crossings.
Please ensure you are also considerate with your parking in relation to access to persons properties and ensure that driveways aren't blocked.
Working together as a community we can continue to ensure that every child who walks to school arrives safely to school and home each day.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and please feel free to share it on any community platforms.
